Internet access is growing steadily in developing nations, but limited infrastructure means that at times connections can still be painfully slow. A major bottleneck for these countries is the need to force a lot of traffic through international links, which typically have relatively low bandwidth.

IOPWE (or the International Organization of Paksitan Women Engineers), a PaKSEF affiliate organization presents its Summer 2008 Newsletter . This time the theme is 'Women in Engineering'.

In this issue there an exclusive interview with EVP IBM Ms. Helene Armitage. She discussess the problems faced by women engineers globally. She also emphasis the need to mentor young women towards engineering. In her experience she has come to realize that women tend to solve problems that effect the society i.e. they are more interested in bio tech and web desiging.
